KOBELCO Construction Machinery Europe (KCME) is excited to unveil the innovative SK520LC-11E excavator at Intermat 2024, succeeding the SK500LC-11 model. This new heavyweight crawler excavator is set to impress with its enhanced operating weight, superior power and torque, and significantly improved arm and bucket force alongside a modernized upper structure. Tailored for both construction and quarrying sectors, the SK520LC-11E showcases a notable increase in operating weight to 53,000kg compared to its forerunner, ensuring augmented stability.
The excavator’s advanced hydraulic pressure (Heavy Lift) capability ensures robust lifting power in close quarters, promising operators a consistent and smooth handling of hefty loads. Specifically, the new model boasts a prime relief pressure boost to 343 bar during regular operations (with a rise to 378 bar in heavy-lift mode), significantly amplifying the bucket and arm force for superior lifting capabilities.
Kobelco’s reputation as an industry front-runner in providing robust earthmoving equipment is poised for further accolade with the introduction of the SK520LC-11E, reinforcing its prestige in the realm of heavy earthmoving and quarrying equipment.
Distinctively, the SK520LC-11E comes with an upgraded Isuzu engine delivering 348kW and 1,980Nm of torque, marking a considerable improvement from the 300kW and 1,700Nm offered by the SK500LC-11 model.
Moreover, the SK520LC-11E ME (Mass Excavation) variant has been designed for even greater stability in quarry operations, featuring a shorter boom and arm that yield heightened productivity over its predecessor. The enhancement includes a stretch in the maximum digging reach to 11,330mm from the previous 10,880mm, and an increase in the maximum digging depth to 6,920mm from 6,480mm.
Continuing the legacy of Kobelco’s Generation 11 machinery, the SK520LC-11E exemplifies the “Performance x Design” ethos, maintaining an exceptional standard in cabin design, ergonomics, comfort, and safety, characteristic of Kobelco’s engineering excellence.
