Yanmar Construction Equipment has unveiled the ViO38-7 and ViO33-7, two innovative models that replace the ViO38-6 and ViO33-6 in their zero-tail swing excavator lineup. Designed with cutting-edge technology, these new models promise better performance, efficiency, and operator comfort, all wrapped in the stylish “Premium Red” look that marks Yanmar’s bold new design direction.
The ViO38-7, weighing in at 3,585kg, delivers an impressive bucket digging force of 32.8kN at 2,200rpm. Meanwhile, the lighter ViO33-7, at 3,265kg, provides a digging force of 30.69kN. These upgrades, coupled with improvements to the hydraulic system and the 18.5kW Yanmar engine, result in a 7% boost in excavation efficiency compared to the previous models.
Changes to the boom swing angle have also enhanced the working radius, with a 115mm reduction in the turning radius. This improvement broadens the machines’ working range and boosts maneuverability. Adjustments to the bucket shape and lower body design further refine the clearing ability, making these models even more versatile.
The compact dimensions of the ViO33-7 (1,550mm width) and ViO38-7 (1,740mm width) make them ideal for tight spaces. Transporting the machines is also convenient, with the ViO33-7 cabin and canopy versions weighing 3,210kg and 3,090kg, respectively, while the ViO38-7’s cabin and canopy versions weigh 3,530kg and 3,405kg.
Efficiency in earthmoving has been boosted thanks to updates to the travel motor and hydraulic pump. The ViO33-7 now achieves a maximum speed of 4.8km/h, with a 25% increase in speed under load. Yanmar’s automatic speed deceleration function also adds to the operational efficiency, making these models ideal for challenging terrains.
The cabins of both machines have undergone ergonomic redesigns, offering a spacious, quieter workspace. Operators will appreciate the 4.3-inch color display, improved air conditioning system, and practical storage options.
